The Director-General of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), Brigadier General Y.D. Ahmed, has charged corps members to serve as responsible ambassadors of the scheme and the nation at large.
Speaking during the swearing-in ceremony of the 2025 Batch ‘B’ Stream I corps members across various orientation camps nationwide, the DG emphasized the importance of discipline, patriotism, and integrity throughout their service year.
“You are to conduct yourselves with utmost discipline, demonstrate leadership, and be worthy representatives of your families, communities, and the NYSC,” he said.
General Ahmed also urged the corps members to take the Skills Acquisition and Entrepreneurship Development (SAED) programme seriously, noting its potential to empower them economically after their service.
State coordinators were also directed to maintain a secure and conducive environment in all orientation camps, ensuring corps members’ safety and welfare.
