Breaking: Nigerian Troops Decimate Boko Haram Fighters in Fierce Borno Operation

Nigerian military forces have recorded a significant victory in the ongoing counter-insurgency war, as troops of Operation Hadin Kai neutralised no fewer than 60 Boko Haram terrorists during a meticulously coordinated land and air offensive in Borno State.

The daring operation, which unfolded in the early hours of Friday, was executed by troops under the 26 Task Force Brigade, operating under Sector One of the Joint Task Force. The military offensive, targeting terrorist hideouts in the Bita axis of the volatile northeastern state, was marked by precision strikes from both ground troops and air support, leading to a decisive blow against the insurgents.

Military sources confirmed that the operation was part of ongoing efforts to rid the North-East region of lingering insurgent threats. The battle, which raged through the night, resulted in the complete dismantling of a key Boko Haram enclave, with dozens of fighters eliminated and several others fleeing with injuries.

Security analysts describe the assault as a strategic win for the Armed Forces, particularly in light of recent intelligence pointing to renewed movements of terrorist cells in the region. The success of the coordinated action underscores the increasing synergy between Nigeria’s ground forces and the Air Component of Operation Hadin Kai.

Residents of nearby communities were reportedly kept safe during the assault, with no civilian casualties recorded. Military authorities are expected to conduct mop-up operations in the coming days to clear the area of remnants and possible improvised explosive devices (IEDs) left behind by fleeing insurgents.

This latest breakthrough comes as the Nigerian military intensifies its counter-terrorism efforts across Borno and other frontline states. The Defence Headquarters has consistently reiterated its commitment to restoring peace and security in the North-East, urging citizens to support the troops with timely and credible information.

The success in Bita is being seen as a morale booster for troops on the frontlines and a strong message to remaining terrorist elements still operating in the fringes of the Lake Chad region and Sambisa Forest.

As security forces continue to push deeper into insurgent-held territories, the military assures Nigerians that operations will remain relentless until all threats to national security are neutralised.
