The Chief of Air Staff (CAS), Air Marshal Hasan Abubakar, has intensified discussions with United States defense partners to expedite the acquisition of AH-1Z Viper attack helicopters for the Nigerian Air Force (NAF).
The high-level engagement, part of ongoing efforts to strengthen Nigeria’s aerial combat and counterterrorism capabilities, underscores the Air Force’s commitment to modernizing its fleet amid rising security challenges across the country.
According to the Nigerian Air Force, the AH-1Z helicopters, known for their advanced avionics, precision-strike capability, and battlefield survivability, will significantly boost operational efficiency in combat missions.
Air Marshal Abubakar reiterated NAF’s readiness to maintain strategic defense cooperation with international allies. He stressed that fast-tracking the delivery and integration of the aircraft is vital to sustaining the momentum in ongoing joint military operations.
