Catholic Priest Declares ‘Holy Ghost Fire’ Prayers as Antichrist Doctrine

A respected Nigerian Catholic priest, Rev. Fr. Chinenye Oluoma, has sparked discussions within Christian circles by stating that those who invoke ‘Holy Ghost fire’ in prayers are not operating under the Spirit of Christ but rather the spirit of the antichrist.

Fr. Oluoma emphasized that the phrase ‘Holy Ghost fire’ was never used for deliverance in the Bible, asserting that true deliverance comes solely “in the name of Jesus Christ.” He urged Christians to re-evaluate their prayer practices, warning that invoking ‘Holy Ghost fire’ against enemies contradicts the teachings of Christ.

“Those who are truly anointed experience transformation. What defines your anointing is the Spirit of God that dwells in you,” he stated. “If you pray ‘Holy Ghost fire’ against your enemies, you do not have the Spirit of Christ. Instead, you are operating under the spirit of the antichrist.”

The Catholic cleric further noted that many Christians unknowingly engage in practices that do not align with biblical doctrine. He cautioned against the common practice of calling down fire on perceived enemies, whether family members, colleagues, or rivals.

“Some people pray, ‘Holy Ghost fire on every enemy who said I will not succeed this year,’ but that is not a Christian prayer,” he continued. “In deliverance, demons are cast out in the name of Jesus Christ, not with ‘Holy Ghost fire.’ The Bible teaches us to ask the Father in Jesus’ name, but many Christians have now turned ‘Holy Ghost fire’ into a regular prayer phrase.”

Fr. Oluoma urged believers to educate others on the biblical approach to prayer, stressing that true Christianity is rooted in Christ-like love and not in invoking fire on adversaries.

His statement has since sparked debates among Christians, with some supporting his stance while others insist that calling down ‘Holy Ghost fire’ is a legitimate spiritual practice.
