The Chief Imam of Ijebu Ode, Sheikh Musbaudeen Ayanbadejo, has admonished Islamic clerics and social media users to refrain from using online platforms to attack personalities, including traditionalists, in order to foster peaceful coexistence in Nigeria.
The revered cleric delivered the message during his Jumat sermon today, marking the opening of the second NASFAT Ogun Zone 2 biennial conference in Ijebu Ode.
Sheikh Ayanbadejo emphasized that social media, when used responsibly, is a powerful tool for propagating the teachings of Islam. He warned against its misuse, which could breed division and tarnish the image of the faith.
“Allah has blessed us with the privilege of knowledge and platforms to spread His message. We must not abuse this privilege by engaging in attacks or spreading discord,” the Imam declared.
He praised the Aljanat women’s wing of NASFAT for organizing programs that highlight the beauty and uniqueness of Islam, urging all Muslims to remain grateful to Allah for His countless blessings.
The Imam further reminded the faithful that their conduct, both online and offline, must reflect piety and wisdom to earn divine favor in this life and the hereafter.

The sermon served as a timely reminder for Muslims to uphold decorum in their digital engagements, reinforcing Islam’s message of peace, tolerance, and respect for all.
