In a move to enhance the electric power supply in Ondo State, Lincs Power Energy Solutions has donated a 5-megawatt power project to the town of Ondo.

The initiative was made possible through the efforts of Mr. Olumbe Akinkugbe, a former Senior Special Assistant to the late Governor Rotimi Akeredolu on ICT.

At the groundbreaking ceremony held on Sunday, Project Manager Mr. Otinniyi Micheal revealed that the capacity of the power project is set to be upgraded to 20 megawatts, which will ensure a reliable electricity supply for not just Ondo town but the entire state and surrounding areas. He praised Governor Mr. Lucky Aiyedatiwa for his support and expressed confidence in the project’s timely completion.

Mr. Akinkugbe, who facilitated the project, noted that it aims to provide dependable electricity to the Ondo West Local Government and adjacent communities, thereby fostering economic development and enhancing residents’ quality of life. He stated that this event marks the commencement of the construction phase, with assurances from Lincs Power Energy Solutions to meet their commitments.

The 5 MW project is expected to significantly contribute to economic growth and improve living conditions in the region. Aiyedatiwa was represented at the event by his Special Adviser on Energy, Mr. Alabi Johnson, who thanked Akinkugbe for his diligent efforts and urged the community to support the initiative.
