Lagos, Nigeria – June 29, 2025
All is set for the 2nd edition of the Lagos International Fire Safety Conference (LIFSC 2.0), as over 2,000 participants from across Nigeria and beyond are expected to converge on Lagos for the high-level engagement on fire safety, risk management, and emergency response innovations.
Slated to hold in the heart of Nigeria’s commercial capital, the conference brings together key stakeholders, including fire service chiefs, safety regulators, emergency responders, industry leaders, academics, and international experts. Themed around advancing sustainable fire safety infrastructure in urban centres, LIFSC 2.0 aims to chart a robust policy direction for fire prevention and disaster mitigation in the face of increasing urbanization.
According to the Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service, the host agency, this year’s edition will feature keynote presentations, panel discussions, technical sessions, exhibitions, and hands-on demonstrations. The conference will also spotlight modern firefighting equipment, strategies for reducing fire outbreaks, and capacity building for first responders.
The Director of the Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service, Mrs. Margaret Adeseye, expressed optimism that LIFSC 2.0 will strengthen national and subnational collaboration in emergency preparedness and fire risk reduction.
“We are excited to welcome delegates to Lagos once again. This conference is not just a meeting of minds; it’s a platform for action. Our goal is to enhance community resilience and professionalize fire safety practices across the board,” she said.
LIFSC 2.0 is supported by both government and private sector partners, with expected participation from international organizations and safety experts from across Africa, Europe, and Asia. As the countdown continues, expectations remain high for impactful resolutions that will further position Lagos and Nigeria as leaders in fire and emergency management on the continent.
