July 10, 2025 | Calabar, Cross River State — Governor Bassey Otu has given the green light to a colossal ₦18 billion investment aimed at rehabilitating key tourism assets across the state—including Tinapa Business Resort, Marina Resort, Obudu Mountain Resort, Kwa Falls, and related facilities.
The initiative forms part of a broader strategy to unlock Cross River’s latent tourism potential and revitalize idle infrastructure for economic benefit. Notable components include:
Tinapa Business Resort: Recently reclaimed from AMCON, plans now move forward for full-scale refurbishment, reopening of the hotel, studios, entertainment outlets, and Free Trade Zone infrastructure .
Marina Resort: The waterfront facility—which saw ₦8 billion in private sector investment over seven months—will receive targeted upgrades to enhance amenities like Tortuga Island, the Blake Entertainment complex, hotels, and water sports facilities .
Obudu Mountain Resort & Kwa Falls: Upgrades planned for ecotourism hubs will include pier harbors, lodges, trail development, and leisure infrastructure to boost visitation and revenue .
