The Comptroller-General of the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS), Bashir Adewale Adeniyi, has extended heartfelt condolences to the government and people of Kano State over the tragic loss of athletes from the state.
In a condolence message made available to the media on Wednesday, the Customs CG expressed deep sorrow over the incident, describing it as a painful loss not only to Kano State but to the entire nation, particularly the sports community.
“I offer my sincere condolences to His Excellency, the Executive Governor of Kano State, the families of the deceased, and the entire people of Kano over this heartbreaking loss. Our hearts are with you in this moment of grief,” Adeniyi said.
He acknowledged the significant contributions of the late athletes to sports development in Nigeria and emphasized the need to continue supporting the dreams of young talents across the country.
The Comptroller-General prayed for the repose of the souls of the departed and for strength and comfort for the bereaved families.
