The Nigeria Customs Service, Murtala Muhammed Area Command (MMAC), has emerged winner of the 2025 Inter-Agency Sports Competition held at the Bashir Adeniyi Sports Arena in Lagos. The keenly contested tournament brought together staff and athletes from various government agencies, including the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN), Nigeria Police Force, Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA), and other logistics stakeholders.
The event, which featured a variety of sporting activities aimed at promoting physical fitness and fostering unity among agencies operating within the aviation sector, saw the MMAC team deliver a standout performance that earned them the top spot on the medal table.
Comptroller of the MMAC, Florence Ogar, lauded her team’s achievement and commended their discipline, determination, and sportsmanship throughout the competition. She noted that the victory underscores the importance of wellness and teamwork in boosting morale and inter-agency cooperation.
“This is more than just sports. It’s about building bridges, promoting understanding, and strengthening the bonds that ensure efficient service delivery across the board,” she said.
The Inter-Agency Sports Competition has become an annual tradition, providing a platform for camaraderie, collaboration, and healthy rivalry among government institutions. Organizers say the competition continues to play a vital role in fostering synergy and mutual respect among agencies, ultimately enhancing operational effectiveness in Nigeria’s aviation and border control systems.
