London, UK – June 14, 2025
Former England football captain and global fashion icon, David Beckham, was officially knighted on Friday in recognition of his outstanding contributions to sport and charitable causes.
The ceremony, held at Buckingham Palace, also honoured other notable British figures, including The Who’s lead singer, Roger Daltrey, and acclaimed actor Gary Oldman, for their respective contributions to music and film.
Beckham, who earned 115 caps for the England national team and enjoyed a stellar club career with Manchester United, Real Madrid, LA Galaxy, and Paris Saint-Germain, expressed deep gratitude for the recognition.
“I’m incredibly honoured and humbled to receive this knighthood. Football has given me so much, and it’s been a privilege to give back through charity work,” Beckham said following the ceremony.
Over the years, Beckham has championed various global causes, particularly through his work with UNICEF, advocating for the rights and well-being of children worldwide.
The knighthood cements Beckham’s legacy not only as a sporting legend but also as a prominent humanitarian.
