Abuja, Nigeria – June 14, 2025
The Group Chief Executive Officer of the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPC Ltd.), Engr. Bashir Bayo Ojulari, on Friday received a high-level delegation from the Independent Petroleum Producers Group (IPPG) at the Corporation’s headquarters in Abuja.
The delegation, led by the IPPG Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Waltersmith Petroman Oil Limited, Mr. Abdulrazaq Isa, engaged in strategic discussions aimed at deepening collaboration between NNPC Ltd. and indigenous oil producers.
Engr. Ojulari commended the IPPG for its commitment to the development of Nigeria’s upstream sector, emphasizing the need for continuous partnership to drive efficiency, boost production, and ensure energy security.
“We welcome IPPG’s proactive engagement. It is crucial that we align our efforts to strengthen the domestic energy industry, attract investment, and maximize value across the oil and gas value chain,” Ojulari said.
On his part, Mr. Isa reiterated the Group’s readiness to work more closely with NNPC Ltd. to overcome industry challenges and seize emerging opportunities in the post-PIA (Petroleum Industry Act) era. He stressed the importance of predictable policies and operational synergy to support indigenous operators.
The meeting concluded with both parties agreeing on the formation of joint working groups to explore key areas of collaboration, including asset development, infrastructure optimization, and capacity building.
The IPPG, a prominent body representing indigenous exploration and production companies in Nigeria, plays a critical role in supporting the country’s energy transition and economic growth agenda.
