Defections to APC Signal Endorsement of Tinubu’s Leadership and Economic Reforms

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has described the recent influx of prominent political figures and their supporters into its fold as a strong vote of confidence in President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s transformational leadership and the administration’s Renewed Hope Agenda.

In a statement issued by the APC’s National Publicity Directorate, the party noted that the growing wave of defections from opposition camps reflects widespread approval of Tinubu’s economic reform policies and governance vision, particularly in stabilizing the economy, fostering inclusive growth, and strengthening national unity.

“The entrance of these leaders and their teeming supporters into our great party is not just a political event, but a clear testament to the enduring appeal of the Renewed Hope Agenda,” the statement read. “It affirms President Tinubu’s bold economic reforms and people-focused initiatives aimed at repositioning Nigeria for prosperity.”

Party officials said the new entrants would be integrated into strategic organs of the APC at both national and state levels to ensure they contribute meaningfully to the party’s ongoing policy advocacy and implementation frameworks.

President Tinubu’s economic blueprint, which includes the removal of fuel subsidies, currency unification, and investment-friendly policies, has received both local and international attention, with institutions like the World Bank and IMF acknowledging the long-term benefits despite short-term pains.

According to the APC, the growing popularity of the administration’s reforms among key political actors further underscores the government’s credibility and capacity to steer Nigeria through a transformative period.

As preparations for future elections and governance benchmarks intensify, the ruling party says it remains open to accommodating Nigerians who share its vision for a more secure, economically vibrant, and just society.
