Deputy Governor Hamzat Participates in Lagos LG Elections, Votes in Epe

Deputy Governor of Lagos State, Dr. Obafemi Hamzat, on Saturday, cast his vote at the Oke-Balogun polling centre in Epe during the local government elections held across the state.

Hamzat arrived at the polling unit in the company of aides and supporters, where he was warmly received by electoral officials and residents. After going through the accreditation process, he exercised his civic duty without any hitches.

Speaking to journalists shortly after voting, the Deputy Governor commended the Lagos State Independent Electoral Commission (LASIEC) for what he described as a largely peaceful and orderly process. He expressed optimism that the outcome of the elections would reflect the will of the people.

“I urge all eligible voters to come out and vote. This is about grassroots development, and we must take the process seriously to elect the right leaders at the local level,” Hamzat stated.

He also lauded the security agencies for maintaining law and order at polling centres across the state and called for sustained vigilance to prevent any breach of peace.

The local government elections are being held across the 20 local government areas and 37 Local Council Development Areas (LCDAs) of Lagos State to elect chairpersons and councillors.
