ABEOKUTA, OGUN STATE — The Deputy Governor of Ogun State, Engr. Noimot Salako-Oyedele, has reiterated the government’s unwavering commitment to improving road safety across the state, assuring residents of sustained efforts to protect lives and property on Ogun roads.
Speaking during a recent stakeholder engagement, Salako-Oyedele emphasized that the Dapo Abiodun-led administration places high priority on road infrastructure and user safety, recognising their direct impact on the state’s socio-economic development.
She noted that the government has intensified interventions in road rehabilitation, installation of safety signage, and expansion of road networks in both urban and rural areas, all aimed at reducing accidents and enhancing traffic flow.
“Our administration is determined to make our roads safer and more efficient. We are not just fixing roads; we are putting systems in place to ensure motorists, passengers, and pedestrians can travel with peace of mind,” she stated.
Salako-Oyedele also highlighted the role of traffic enforcement agencies, public education campaigns, and community involvement in ensuring long-term road safety, urging residents to cooperate with ongoing reforms.
The Deputy Governor’s remarks come amid renewed concerns over road-related fatalities and congestion in fast-growing towns within the state. She assured that the government will continue to engage relevant agencies and invest in sustainable transportation solutions to meet the needs of Ogun’s expanding population.
As part of the broader infrastructure agenda, Ogun State has commenced strategic road projects and safety initiatives targeted at accident-prone areas, commercial hubs, and border communities.
