Ile-Ife, Osun State | September 28, 2025
The Osun State Deputy Governor, Kola Adewusi, has called on politicians and youths to shun actions capable of breaching public peace.
Adewusi, who represented Governor Ademola Adeleke, made the appeal at the grand finale of the annual Olojo Festival in Ile-Ife.
Addressing a large gathering of cultural enthusiasts, indigenes, and invited guests, he urged political actors in the ancient city to embrace unity and play politics in a way that fosters development in their hometown.
The Olojo Festival climaxed with the Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi, donning the sacred Are Crown, which he traditionally wears once a year.
After adorning the crown, the monarch led a procession from his Enuwa Palace to Oke Mogun, where he performed symbolic rites said to trace back to the legendary journey of Oduduwa to the Ogun shrine.
The event, which attracted participants from across Nigeria and beyond, highlighted both the cultural significance of the festival and the calls for peace and development within the community.
