The 4th edition of the NASFAT Games (NASGA 4.0) began in grand style at Fountain University, Osogbo, Osun State, with an energetic football match setting the tone for a week-long celebration of sports, intellect, and unity.
The colourful opening ceremony was graced by members of the NASFAT Board of Trustees (BOT), National Executive Council (NEC), National Council of Elders (NCOE), Women Management Committee (WMC), zonal chairmen, and other key stakeholders. Their presence highlighted NASFAT’s strong commitment to youth development, talent discovery, and promoting the Deen through sports.
Declaring the Games open, the Chairman of the Board of Trustees, Dr. Abdul Lateef Olasupo, together with Engr. Kamar Olawuyi, NASFAT Vice President 1, and Prof. Ramota Olayinka Karim, Vice Chancellor of Fountain University, performed the ceremonial kickoff. In their remarks, they commended NASFAT for using sports to instill discipline, teamwork, and excellence, stressing that NASGA is about more than competition—it is about uniting the Ummah and positively engaging young people.
This year’s Games, themed “Discovering Talent and Uniting the Ummah,” feature a wide range of events including Football, Volleyball, Table Tennis, Chess, Scrabble, Athletics, and Quiz Competitions. Other highlights include a symposium, exhibitions, an awards night, and a colourful closing ceremony.
Delegations from across Nigeria and the diaspora, including Côte d’Ivoire, are already in Osogbo, with excitement and camaraderie filling the atmosphere as participants prepare to compete for glory.
