Eddie Hearn has called on Tyson Fury to clarify his intentions regarding a potential return to boxing, emphasizing the opportunity for a long-awaited bout with Anthony Joshua. Despite Fury’s recent social media activity suggesting a possible comeback, he has yet to make an official announcement.
Joshua is scheduled to undergo keyhole surgery on his elbow, with a recovery period of 4 to 6 weeks, potentially allowing him to return to the ring later this year. Hearn expressed frustration over Fury’s ambiguous posts, urging him to make a definitive decision.
Hearn highlighted the improved relations between promoters and the absence of world titles from both fighters as factors that could facilitate negotiations. He remains optimistic about the possibility of the fight taking place, noting that Joshua is eager for the matchup.
Should Fury decide against a return, Hearn mentioned alternative options for Joshua, including a potential rematch with Dillian Whyte or a bout against the winner of the Usyk–Daniel Dubois rematch scheduled for July 19 at Wembley. However, Hearn emphasized that Joshua’s primary focus remains on a fight with Tyson Fury.
