Edo Government Reaffirms Commitment to Inclusive Governance, Democratic Gains

Benin City, Nigeria – June 10, 2025 — The Edo State Commissioner for Information and Communication, Hon. Paul Ohonbamu, has reiterated the state government’s unwavering commitment to delivering the dividends of democracy under the leadership of Governor Monday Okpebholo.

Speaking to journalists in Benin City on Monday, Ohonbamu emphasized that the current administration is focused on building an inclusive and equitable Edo State, where the benefits of governance are accessible to all residents regardless of background or political affiliation.

“Governor Okpebholo is committed to good governance, inclusive development, and ensuring that every community in Edo feels the impact of democratic progress,” the Commissioner stated.

He noted that the state government is pursuing policies and programs aimed at strengthening infrastructure, improving access to education and healthcare, and promoting youth and women empowerment.

The Commissioner also assured citizens that transparency, accountability, and participatory governance will remain the cornerstone of the administration’s operations.

“We are not just promising change—we are implementing it,” he added, urging Edo people to remain supportive and patient as reforms continue to unfold.

This assurance comes amid ongoing efforts by the state government to roll out development projects and deepen civic engagement across local government areas.
