Edo Government Uncovers Brothel Operating in Primary School Premises

The Edo State government has uncovered a brothel operating within the premises of Ujuele Primary School located in Esan West Local Government Area. The illicit establishment was reportedly set up by individuals who illegally took over the government-owned property.

The State Coordinator for the Protection of Government Property, Eugene Okolosie, disclosed that the government acted promptly after receiving reports from the community. Okolosie revealed that thousands of government-owned plots have been encroached upon across the state, with over 150,000 structures built unlawfully on such lands.

He further stated that the government has recovered approximately 90 percent of these encroached lands, including properties belonging to educational institutions. The Edo State administration under Governor Monday Okpebholo is currently working on plans to rehabilitate the recovered properties and ensure they are used for their original public purposes.

This move reflects the state government’s commitment to protecting public assets and ensuring a safe, conducive environment for education within its jurisdiction.
