August 25, 2025 — The Edo State Head of Service (HOS) has praised Governor Monday Okpebholo for his consistent commitment to workers’ welfare, noting that salaries have remained regular since his assumption of office.
Speaking in Benin City, the HOS said the governor’s administration has demonstrated a strong sense of responsibility by prioritising the timely payment of civil servants’ entitlements despite economic challenges confronting many states.
He emphasised that prompt salary payments have boosted staff morale, enhanced productivity across ministries, departments, and agencies, and reaffirmed government’s credibility among workers.
The HOS further urged civil servants in the state to reciprocate the governor’s gesture by remaining dedicated, efficient, and accountable in discharging their duties.
Labour analysts say regular payment of salaries is increasingly becoming a benchmark for good governance in Nigeria, particularly at a time when many states are grappling with fiscal constraints.
Governor Okpebholo has consistently assured workers of his administration’s commitment to prioritising welfare, while also implementing reforms to strengthen the state’s civil service system.
