Education District II Launches Transformation, Creativity and Innovation Committee to Drive Academic Excellence

July 5, 2025 — Lagos, Nigeria

In a bold move to enhance teaching and learning outcomes, Lagos State Education District II has inaugurated the Transformation, Creativity, and Innovation (TCI) Committee, aimed at fostering excellence, promoting cutting-edge educational strategies, and accelerating reform within the district.

The inauguration ceremony, held at the District Headquarters in Maryland, brought together key stakeholders in the education sector, including school administrators, principals, teachers, and innovation experts.

Permanent Secretary of Education District II, Mrs. Anike Adekanye, while inaugurating the committee, stated that the initiative aligns with the T.H.E.M.E.S+ development agenda of Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, particularly under the pillar of education and technology.

According to her, the TCI Committee will serve as a think-tank to explore innovative practices, introduce transformative strategies, and monitor implementation of impactful projects that will reposition the district’s education system for global competitiveness.

“Our goal is to move beyond conventional methods and encourage creativity, digital learning, and teacher-led innovation. The TCI Committee will harness the talents of our educators and provide the platform for them to thrive,” Adekanye said.

She charged members of the newly formed committee to be proactive, solution-driven, and to work closely with school heads in implementing programmes that will benefit students and enhance the quality of instruction.

Members of the committee pledged their commitment to the task ahead and expressed enthusiasm to contribute meaningfully to the development of the district’s academic landscape.
