Abuja, Nigeria – September 4, 2025
The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has arrested Ahamba Tochukwu, Chief Executive Officer of Gavice Logistics Limited, over allegations of defrauding more than 400 investors of over ₦2 billion in a suspected Ponzi scheme.
In a statement issued in Abuja on Wednesday, EFCC’s Head of Media and Publicity, Dele Oyewale, said Tochukwu allegedly lured investors with promises of 50 percent returns through purported haulage, courier, and e-commerce ventures. Investigations revealed that the scheme collapsed in November 2024, when the suspect reportedly disappeared with the funds.
EFCC operatives confirmed that Tochukwu has now been apprehended and is currently being interrogated in Abuja. The commission advised members of the public to exercise caution in engaging with unverified investment schemes and reiterated its commitment to prosecuting financial crimes.
