The Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Abdulrasheed Bawa, has been honoured with an award of distinction and quality service by SERVICOM, in recognition of his outstanding dedication to promoting justice, transparency, and effective service delivery in Nigeria. The award was presented by the National Coordinator of SERVICOM, Mrs. Nnenna Akajemeli, during a one-day stakeholders’ forum held in Abuja, which brought together directors of reforms, nodal officers, public relations officers, and civil society organisations to advance campaigns against service failures.
Mrs. Akajemeli commended Bawa and the EFCC for “raising the bar in strengthening the service delivery campaign,” noting that the recognition was a testament to the agency’s commitment to SERVICOM’s vision and mission. She further advocated for the implementation of policies that ensure ordinary Nigerians feel the positive impact of good governance, urging all public institutions to work in synergy towards realising the dream of a better Nigeria.
The EFCC, under Bawa’s leadership, has been lauded for its reforms and proactive measures in combating corruption and ensuring accountability in public service. This latest SERVICOM award follows previous accolades, including the agency being named the best parastatal in service delivery in Nigeria and Bawa himself recognised as one of the top-performing chief executives in the public sector.
Other government agencies, such as the Central Bank of Nigeria and the Federal Inland Revenue Service, were also recognised at the forum for their contributions to service delivery. The event reinforced the importance of continuous improvement in public service and the critical role of leadership in upholding the principles of justice and transparency for the benefit of all Nigerians.
