Saudi authorities have officially confirmed the sighting of the crescent moon, marking the beginning of Dhul Hijjah 1446 AH tonight. As a result, the Day of ‘Arafah will fall on Thursday, June 5, 2025, and Eid Al-Adha will be celebrated on Friday, June 6, 2025.
With this announcement, the global Muslim community ushers in the most sacred days in the Islamic calendar. The first ten days of Dhul Hijjah are revered for their immense spiritual rewards, culminating in the Hajj pilgrimage and the celebration of Eid.
In Saudi Arabia, preparations for Hajj are now in full swing, as pilgrims have begun arriving in the holy lands to perform the rites of the fifth pillar of Islam. The spiritual climax will occur on the plains of Arafah, where pilgrims will stand in supplication and remembrance on the 9th of Dhul Hijjah.
Muslims around the world are also preparing to observe these blessed days with fasting, charity, increased devotion, and the performance of the Eid sacrifice in honor of Prophet Ibrahim’s (AS) submission to Allah’s command.
