Eid al-Adha: Olukoyede Urges Nigerians to Renew Commitment to Anti-Corruption War

ABUJA – June 5, 2025

The Executive Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Mr. Ola Olukoyede, has urged Nigerians, particularly the Muslim faithful, to embrace the values of truth, integrity, sacrifice, and selflessness as they mark this year’s Eid al-Adha celebration.

Olukoyede made the call in a goodwill message issued in Abuja on Thursday, June 5, 2025, while felicitating with Muslims across the country on the occasion of Salah.

He emphasized that the core virtues of Eid — love, care, and sacrifice — are essential to building a corruption-free Nigeria, noting that a collective resolve is crucial in confronting the menace of financial and economic crimes.

“As we celebrate Eid al-Adha, let’s keep our focus keener on tackling corrupt practices in our land. We have all it takes to confront and conquer financial and economic crimes. Nigeria is awaiting our collective efforts to make her the greatest nation on earth,” he stated.

The EFCC boss encouraged Muslims to reflect deeply on national development and prioritize sound initiatives capable of steering the country toward progress.

“As long as we keep thinking and considering effective initiatives to move our nation forward, progress is inevitable. Tackling corruption is an all-time imperative. We must not shy away from it,” he added.

Olukoyede also commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for demonstrating strong political will and providing an enabling environment for the anti-graft campaign to thrive.

“We owe the President this obligation of appreciating him for leading the way, walking the talk, and providing the right environment for the anti-corruption fight. Without political will, we cannot tackle corruption effectively,” he concluded.
