Ekiti Governor Vows Completion of Ado–Ijan Road Project

Ado-Ekiti, Nigeria — August 18, 2025 | Ekiti State Governor, Biodun Oyebanji, has assured residents that the abandoned Ado–Ijan road construction will soon resume, reaffirming his administration’s commitment to improving infrastructure across the state.

Speaking during an inspection visit, Governor Oyebanji explained that the state government is already engaging with contractors to mobilise back to site. He noted that the Ado–Ijan road is a critical economic corridor linking several communities and facilitating trade, education, and healthcare access.

The governor acknowledged the frustration of road users over the project’s delay but urged patience, stressing that government resources are being prioritised to ensure quality and timely delivery. He further reiterated that his administration remains focused on fulfilling its campaign promises, particularly in road rehabilitation, rural development, and social services.

Local residents and motorists welcomed the governor’s assurance, noting that the completion of the road will ease movement, reduce travel time, and enhance economic activities in Ekiti State.

Governor Oyebanji reaffirmed that his government would not relent in its drive to modernise infrastructure, stressing that the Ado–Ijan road project stands as a testament to his determination to address the state’s most pressing developmental needs.
