The Emir of Lafia, His Royal Highness Justice Sidi Bage Muhammad I (rtd), has lauded the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) for its pivotal role in transforming road safety management in Nigeria, describing the agency as a game-changer in the nation’s transport and public safety landscap
Speaking during a courtesy visit by a delegation of FRSC officials to the Lafia Emirate Council in Nasarawa State, the monarch praised the Corps for its unwavering commitment to reducing road crashes, enforcing traffic regulations, and promoting a culture of responsible driving among Nigerians.
Justice Sidi Bage, a retired Supreme Court Justice, highlighted the growing efficiency and visibility of the FRSC across Nigerian highways, noting that their presence has instilled discipline and drastically improved safety for motorists and pedestrians alike. He further commended the Corps for its public enlightenment campaigns and collaborations with traditional institutions to deepen awareness at the grassroots.
“The FRSC has become a vital institution in safeguarding lives on our roads. Their impact is visible, and as traditional leaders, we will continue to support their efforts in sensitising our people,” the Emir stated.
In his remarks, the FRSC Sector Commander in Nasarawa State thanked the Emir for his continued support and pledged the agency’s dedication to its mandate of saving lives through proactive enforcement, strategic partnerships, and community engagement.
The visit underscored the importance of synergy between traditional institutions and government agencies in achieving national development goals, particularly in areas of safety, civic education, and public responsibility.
