The 16th Emir of Kano, Alhaji Muhammadu Sanusi II, has cautioned against attempts to disrupt the peace of the state amid the ongoing tussle over the emirate. He warned that those challenging his position are, in essence, opposing divine will, a move he says will not end well.
In a voice message aired on Premier Radio, a local station in Kano, the Emir urged residents to remain law-abiding and not allow themselves to be used to incite unrest. He emphasized that the issue at hand goes beyond personal interests and is fundamentally about destiny and the will of Allah.
“We are calling on the people to be law-abiding citizens. This tussle is not about me; they are fighting what God has destined to happen. God does not need anyone’s support. I am pleading with you to be patient and prayerful. Surely, God will continue to support those who are fair and just,” he stated.
Emir Sanusi further declared that any individual or group attempting to plunge Kano into crisis would face divine retribution.
“Fire will consume anyone who is planning to set Kano State on fire. May he never witness peace in his life. May Allah protect our country and our lives. Insha’Allah, whoever is challenging God’s decision will not end well,” he warned.
The Kano emirate crisis has remained a contentious issue, drawing attention from political and traditional circles. While stakeholders continue to weigh in on the matter, the Emir’s message underscores the spiritual and cultural significance of the dispute.
