A 25-year-old man, Ayomide Oluwadamilare, has been arrested by operatives of the Ogun State Police Command in connection with the alleged murder of his former employer, Mr. Kola Adun, and an attempt to sell the deceased’s vehicle shortly after the incident.
According to police sources, the tragic event occurred in Akute, within the Ifo Local Government Area of Ogun State, where the suspect had previously served as a personal driver to the late Mr. Adun. Investigators disclosed that Ayomide allegedly carried out the act with the intention of stealing the victim’s car, which he then tried to sell in a bid to cover up the crime and make financial gain.
Spokesperson for the Ogun State Police Command, Omolola Odutola, confirmed the arrest, noting that the suspect was apprehended following credible intelligence and swift action by law enforcement officers. The vehicle, believed to belong to the deceased, was also reportedly recovered during the arrest operation.
“The suspect, a former employee of the deceased, is currently in police custody and assisting with ongoing investigations,” Odutola stated. “We are committed to ensuring that justice is served and that the full circumstances surrounding the incident are thoroughly uncovered.”
The murder of Mr. Kola Adun has sent shockwaves through the local community, with residents expressing outrage over the betrayal and senseless violence. The late Adun was described by neighbors and colleagues as a calm and respected individual, known for his generosity and discipline.
