Abuja, September 3, 2025 – The Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA) on Wednesday carried out the demolition of Boulevard Park in Maitama, citing violations of the Abuja master plan.
Officials explained that the property was erected without proper approvals and had encroached on designated green areas. The FCTA Department of Development Control said the action was part of its ongoing efforts to restore order and ensure strict adherence to Abuja’s urban planning regulations.
Residents in the area observed heavy security presence as bulldozers pulled down structures at the park. Authorities stressed that the enforcement exercise was not targeted at individuals but aimed at safeguarding the integrity of the city’s original plan.
The FCTA reiterated its warning to developers and property owners against contravening land-use laws, emphasizing that future violations would attract similar consequences.
The demolition adds to a series of recent enforcement actions as the administration intensifies its clampdown on illegal developments across the capital city.
