Federal Government Announces Commencement of 2025 Recruitment Into Key Interior Ministry Agencies

Abuja, June 24, 2025 – The Federal Government has officially opened applications for the 2025 recruitment exercise into four major paramilitary agencies operating under the Federal Ministry of Interior. The nationwide exercise is aimed at strengthening national security and emergency response systems while creating employment opportunities for eligible Nigerians.

According to a public notice released by the Civil Defence, Correctional, Fire and Immigration Services Board (CDCFIB), the agencies involved in the recruitment include:

Nigerian Correctional Service (NCoS)

Nigerian Immigration Service (NIS)

Federal Fire Service (FFS)

Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC)

The announcement called on interested applicants to visit the official recruitment portal and submit their applications online. The recruitment is strictly merit-based, with emphasis on transparency, fairness, and equal opportunity across all states of the federation.

Applicants must meet the following general requirements:

Must be a Nigerian citizen by birth;

Must be between the ages of 18 and 35;

Must possess a minimum of SSCE/GCE/NECO/NABTEB with at least five credits including English Language and Mathematics;

Must be physically and medically fit;

Must not have any criminal record.

Additional qualifications and specific criteria will apply depending on the agency and cadre applied for. Applicants are also advised to avoid any form of bribery or solicitation, as the recruitment process is free of charge and any attempt to manipulate the process will lead to automatic disqualification and prosecution.

The Ministry of Interior has reiterated that this recruitment aims to fill existing manpower gaps in critical national services such as border security, fire rescue, correctional management, and civil protection. Successful candidates will undergo thorough screening and training to align with international standards of public safety and discipline.

The deadline for application submission will be communicated in due course, but interested candidates are advised to apply promptly as the portal may close earlier depending on the volume of submissions.
