Federal University of Education Zaria Honours Gwarzo with Naming of 480-Capacity CBT Centre

Zaria, Nigeria – June 27, 2025

In recognition of his distinguished contributions to education and public service, the Federal University of Education, Zaria (FUE-Zaria), has named its newly built 480-capacity Computer-Based Test (CBT) Centre after His Excellency, Engr. Abdullahi Tijjani Muhammad Gwarzo.

The facility, now officially designated the “Engr. ATM Gwarzo CBT Centre,” was unveiled during a brief ceremony on campus, where university authorities praised Gwarzo’s unwavering support for educational development and digital innovation in Nigeria’s academic sector.

The Vice Chancellor of FUE-Zaria lauded the former Minister of State for Education for his visionary leadership, noting that the CBT centre will significantly enhance the university’s digital infrastructure and expand access to modern examination practices for thousands of students.

“Naming this centre after His Excellency, Engr. Abdullahi Tijjani Muhammad Gwarzo, is both a tribute and a legacy. His advocacy for education reform and inclusive access to learning continues to inspire institutions across the country,” the VC said.

In his remarks, Engr. Gwarzo expressed heartfelt gratitude for the honour and pledged to continue supporting initiatives that strengthen Nigeria’s education system.

“This recognition is deeply humbling. I remain committed to contributing toward a future where every Nigerian child has access to quality, technology-driven education,” he stated.

The CBT centre is equipped with state-of-the-art computers, high-speed internet connectivity, backup power systems, and security infrastructure, and is expected to serve as a model for other institutions seeking to upgrade their digital assessment platforms.
