The Federal Government has declared Friday, September 5, 2025, a public holiday to mark a national observance.
The announcement was made on Wednesday in Abuja by the Minister of Interior, who noted that the holiday is part of the government’s effort to promote national unity and give citizens an opportunity to reflect on the values of peace, progress, and collective responsibility.
The Minister urged Nigerians to use the occasion to strengthen bonds of friendship and unity across communities, while reaffirming their commitment to building a prosperous nation under the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration.
He further commended Nigerians for their resilience in the face of economic and social challenges, stressing that the government remains committed to reforms aimed at improving security, job creation, and overall national stability.
Citizens across the country are expected to observe the day with prayers, community activities, and family engagements, in line with cultural and religious traditions.
