Abuja, Nigeria – June 2025
In a strategic move to deepen youth engagement in national policymaking, the Federal Government has officially unveiled the website for the forthcoming National Youth Conference. The digital portal — www.nationalyouthconfab.gov.ng — will serve as the central platform for information, registration, and updates ahead of the multi-tiered conference set to hold later this year.
Speaking at the launch event in Abuja, the Honourable Minister of Youth Development, Comrade Ayodele Olawande, described the initiative as a critical shift towards participatory governance. He highlighted that the conference structure would include diaspora engagements, grassroots constituency-level consultations, zonal dialogues, and a final national gathering in the Federal Capital Territory.
“This conference is an opportunity for young Nigerians to transition from protest to policy — from identifying problems to offering practical solutions,” Olawande stated.
Also speaking at the event, Permanent Secretary of the Ministry and Chairman of the National Planning Committee, Olubunmi Olusanya, described the website as a “digital gateway to inclusivity,” noting that it will allow seamless registration of delegates across Nigeria’s 360 federal constituencies and the diaspora.
He praised President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for his unwavering support of youth-centred initiatives and commended the Minister’s forward-looking approach to national development.
The conference is built around six key thematic pillars: governance, economic empowerment, education, innovation and technology, climate change, and inclusion. It aims to produce a unified youth agenda that will influence future policy direction and government programming.
The National Youth Conference underscores the administration’s commitment to transparency, innovation, and a future anchored on youth-led progress and collective action.
