In a renewed effort to curb the growing out-of-school children crisis in Nigeria, the Federal Ministry of Education has announced a strategic partnership with the NEEM Foundation, a leading non-governmental organisation focused on education and psychosocial support.
The collaboration is aimed at providing inclusive and accessible learning opportunities for millions of children, particularly in underserved and conflict-affected communities. The initiative underscores the Federal Government’s commitment to ensuring that “no child is left behind” in the country’s pursuit of universal education.
Speaking during the official announcement, the Minister of Education emphasized that the partnership would deploy community-based learning models, psychosocial interventions, and digital education tools to re-integrate children into formal and non-formal education systems.
“Our goal is to unlock the potential of every Nigerian child. This partnership with NEEM Foundation is a bold step towards addressing systemic barriers to education and giving hope to those who need it most,” the Minister said.
On her part, the Executive Director of NEEM Foundation reiterated the organisation’s dedication to transforming lives through education. “We believe every child deserves the chance to learn, grow, and contribute to society. This collaboration will open doors to thousands of children who have been denied that right for too long.”
The partnership is expected to commence with pilot programmes in select northern states, with plans for nationwide expansion.
