First Post-Hajj Flights Depart Madinah for Bahrain and Oman

Madinah, June 10, 2025 – The first set of outbound flights carrying pilgrims who have completed the 1446H Hajj pilgrimage departed from Prince Mohammed Bin Abdulaziz International Airport in Madinah today, with Bahrain and Oman as the initial destinations.

According to Saudi authorities, the pilgrims had fulfilled all major rites of Hajj, including the symbolic stoning of the devil in Mina, the Tawaf al-Ifadah (ritual circumambulation), and visits to the Prophet’s Mosque in Madinah, before preparing for their return home.

This marks the beginning of the return phase of the annual pilgrimage, which saw millions of Muslims from across the globe converge in the holy cities of Makkah and Madinah. Airport officials confirmed that logistics and immigration procedures were running smoothly, with special attention given to elderly and vulnerable pilgrims.

Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Hajj and Umrah had earlier announced streamlined exit protocols for foreign pilgrims through its Nusuk platform, ensuring pilgrims’ departure was well-coordinated in partnership with airlines and consular officials of various countries.

The flights to Bahrain and Oman represent the first leg of what will be a weeks-long operation involving the safe and orderly repatriation of pilgrims to more than 150 countries. Authorities praised the cooperation of pilgrims, Hajj officials, and volunteers for making this year’s Hajj a peaceful and spiritually fulfilling experience.

Saudi officials reiterated their commitment to improving pilgrim experience year after year, while many departing pilgrims expressed deep gratitude for the hospitality and facilities provided throughout their sacred journey.
