FMACTCE Inaugurates Multi-Sectoral Strategic Plan Committee to Propel National Growth Through Arts, Culture, Tourism, and Creative Economy

Abuja, Nigeria – July ,2025 — In a major step towards harnessing the power of Nigeria’s rich cultural assets for national development, the Federal Ministry of Arts, Culture, Tourism, and the Creative Economy (FMACTCE) has officially inaugurated a Multi-Sectoral Strategic Plan (MSSP) Committee.

The inauguration ceremony, held in Abuja, signals the ministry’s renewed commitment to positioning the arts, culture, tourism, and creative economy as key pillars in the nation’s developmental agenda under the Renewed Hope vision of the current administration.

Speaking during the event, the Honourable Minister of Arts, Culture, Tourism and Creative Economy, Barr. Hannatu Musa Musawa, emphasized the critical role of the committee in aligning sectoral policies with national economic priorities. She noted that the MSSP will serve as a roadmap for policy implementation, private sector collaboration, and international engagement in areas that drive innovation, job creation, and cultural diplomacy.

“The creative economy is not just about expression—it is a powerful tool for economic transformation and global recognition,” the Minister said. “This committee will work across ministries, agencies, and sectors to ensure a unified, actionable strategy that brings long-term value to the nation.”

The MSSP Committee comprises key representatives from relevant ministries, departments, agencies, and private sector stakeholders with expertise in cultural heritage, creative industries, tourism development, digital innovation, and investment.

The initiative is expected to result in a comprehensive policy framework that boosts domestic and international tourism, supports creative entrepreneurs, and enhances Nigeria’s soft power across global platforms.

The inauguration marks a critical milestone in implementing President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda, which identifies culture and creativity as strategic growth sectors capable of reducing unemployment and expanding Nigeria’s global footprint.
