The Corps Marshal of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Shehu Mohammed, mni, joined a gathering of national thought leaders at the VON Forum 2025, an initiative of the Voice of Nigeria. The Corps Marshal was in attendance at the invitation of the Director-General of VON, marking another significant step in the FRSC’s ongoing efforts to strengthen partnerships that advance public safety and national cohesion.
This year’s edition of the forum was held under the theme: “Renewed Hope Agenda, Citizens’ Engagement and National Security: One Voice, One Vision, One Uniting Perspective for a Stronger Nigeria.” The theme, organisers noted, speaks directly to the urgent national need for inclusive dialogue, inter-agency collaboration, and public trust—principles that are also deeply embedded in the operational mandate of the FRSC.
In his remarks at the event, Corps Marshal Mohammed reiterated the Corps’ dedication to promoting road safety, citizen welfare, and national development. He emphasized that the FRSC remains a critical player in the security architecture of the country, not only through enforcing traffic laws but also by fostering public awareness, community engagement, and emergency response systems that save lives and prevent road-related fatalities.
The Corps Marshal noted that the forum provided a unique platform for constructive dialogue between government institutions, media, and citizens—an approach he described as essential to bridging communication gaps and restoring faith in public service delivery. He reaffirmed the FRSC’s alignment with President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope vision, which seeks to unite Nigerians under a common purpose of safety, progress, and national solidarity.
According to KIIN360 policy analysts, FRSC’s active presence at events like the VON Forum signals a broader institutional shift toward proactive public engagement as a tool for achieving national security objectives. The Corps’ participation is viewed as part of a wider strategy to redefine road safety as a component of internal stability and socio-economic development.
The event concluded with a renewed call for synergy between agencies, media platforms, and civil society in building a stronger Nigeria through shared responsibility and unified messaging. For the FRSC, the message was clear: road safety is not just about vehicles and highways, but about protecting human lives and ensuring a secure environment for all.
