FRSC Corps Marshal Shehu Mohammed Graces ICAN Annual Dinner and Merit Awards 2025 in Lagos

The Corps Marshal of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Dauda Ali Biu, ably represented by Deputy Corps Marshal Shehu Mohammed, was among the distinguished guests at the 2025 Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN) Annual Dinner and Merit Award Ceremony, held at The Monarch Event Centre, Lekki, Lagos.

Shehu Mohammed, who attended the event as a guest of honour, was formally invited by the President of ICAN, Chief Davidson C.S., in recognition of his contribution to public service and commitment to institutional excellence. The glamorous gathering, which brought together Nigeria’s finest in the accounting, business, and public leadership sectors, was aimed at celebrating individuals and institutions that have demonstrated integrity, excellence, and professionalism in their respective fields.

The Corps Marshal, in his goodwill remarks delivered at the event, expressed deep appreciation to ICAN for the honour and commended the Institute for its unwavering commitment to transparency, accountability, and ethical leadership in both public and private sectors. He stressed the importance of synergy between financial institutions and regulatory agencies such as the FRSC, particularly in fostering compliance, data integrity, and sound corporate governance.

“The values ICAN promotes — discipline, professionalism, and accountability — align closely with the FRSC’s mandate of ensuring safety on Nigerian roads through efficient service delivery,” he noted, adding that nation-building is best achieved through inter-agency cooperation and public-private collaboration.

The 2025 Merit Award Ceremony also featured presentations of honorary awards, musical performances, and tributes to outstanding ICAN members whose careers have made impactful contributions to the nation. The event underscored ICAN’s role not just as a professional body, but as a key stakeholder in Nigeria’s developmental agenda.

Other high-profile guests at the event included state officials, business executives, top academics, and representatives from multilateral institutions, making it a night of celebration, reflection, and renewed commitment to professional excellence.

The presence of Corps Marshal Shehu Mohammed added a notable dimension to the evening, as his participation symbolized the growing intersection between financial oversight and institutional leadership in Nigeria’s evolving governance landscape.
