FRSC Hosts Strategic Mentorship Workshop to Bolster Institutional Growth

The Corps Public Education Office (CPEO) of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) on Tuesday, May 27, 2025, organized a thought-provoking workshop focused on mentorship and institutional development. Held at the ICT Hall of the FRSC Headquarters in Abuja, the event featured a compelling lecture titled “The Imperative of a Strategic Mentorship Programme in FRSC” delivered by Senior Route Commander A.I. Kefas.

In his presentation, SRC Kefas emphasized the critical role of structured mentorship in narrowing the gap between seasoned officers and emerging personnel. He argued that mentorship is not merely an optional support system, but a strategic imperative for grooming future leaders, preserving organisational values, and ensuring operational excellence.

“Mentorship is the bridge that connects institutional memory to innovation. By guiding and nurturing young officers, we are safeguarding the legacy and integrity of the Corps,” Kefas stated.

The workshop, which attracted personnel from various departments, underscored the urgent need to formalize mentorship as a core component of the FRSC’s human capital development strategy. Discussions at the event revolved around aligning mentorship initiatives with the Corps’ long-term objectives, ensuring that experience and knowledge are passed down in a systematic and impactful manner.

Participants described the session as timely and relevant, especially in the face of evolving road safety challenges and the growing need for adaptive leadership. The CPEO affirmed its commitment to driving the mentorship agenda forward, stressing that sustainable development within the Corps must be anchored on purposeful training and mentorship.

The workshop concluded with a collective resolution to institutionalize mentorship frameworks across all FRSC formations, reinforcing the Corps’ mission to build a more resilient, efficient, and values-driven workforce.
