FRSC Promotes Road Safety, Fitness With June Jogging and Walking Exercise

Abuja, Nigeria – June 28, 2025

The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) National Headquarters on Saturday hosted the June edition of its monthly Walking and Jogging Exercise, aimed at fostering road safety consciousness and promoting the physical well-being of officers and the general public.

The initiative, which drew participation from across FRSC departments and partner stakeholders, is part of the Corps’ broader efforts to integrate health, fitness, and awareness into its operational and public engagement strategies.

The Corps Marshal, Shehu Mohammed, mni, was represented by Deputy Corps Marshal Clement O. Oladele, who oversees the Policy Research and Statistics Department. He emphasized the dual significance of the exercise in enhancing officers’ physical readiness and reinforcing the message of safe road use to the wider community.

“This event is more than a fitness routine; it is a strategic outreach to remind Nigerians that road safety starts with each individual, both physically and mentally prepared to make the right choices,” DCM Oladele said.

The Corps also used the opportunity to distribute educational materials on road safety and advocate for responsible driving, particularly as travel increases across the country during mid-year activities.

Participants covered several kilometers around designated routes in Abuja, wearing reflective safety gear and bearing placards with messages encouraging safe driving, speed reduction, and pedestrian awareness.

The monthly fitness campaign continues to be a vital component of the FRSC’s wellness and advocacy agenda, helping to foster a culture of health and safety within and beyond the organization.
