Fubara Raises Alarm: Rivers Under Siege as Bomb Scare Sparks State of Emergency Fears

Rivers State Governor Sim Fubara has raised an alarm over an alleged plot to declare a state of emergency in the state. The governor’s warning comes on the heels of a recent bomb scare at Hotel Presidential in Port Harcourt, the state capital.

According to Fubara, the bomb scare was a deliberate attempt to create chaos and justify a state of emergency in the state. He claimed that the masterminds of the plot were desperate to disrupt the peace and stability of Rivers State.

The governor also alleged that some politicians were sponsoring protests in the state to demand an extension of tenure for former local government chairmen. He urged the protesters and their sponsors to respect the law and allow the state to function peacefully.

Fubara’s allegations have sparked concerns among residents and stakeholders in the state, who fear that the situation could escalate into a full-blown crisis.

The Rivers State Government has called on security agencies to investigate the bomb scare and bring those responsible to justice.

In a related development, the State Commissioner of Police, Okon Effiong, has assured residents of the state that the police are on top of the situation and are working to prevent any breakdown of law and order.
