The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) in Gombe State has received a significant boost in its efforts to combat crime with the addition of nine new operational vehicles. This donation includes three brand-new vehicles and six refurbished ones, courtesy of the Gombe State Government and a private individual, Gen. Hassan. The Commandant of the NSCDC in Gombe, Gyama Gyawiya, expressed gratitude to Governor Muhammadu Yahaya for his unwavering support, stating that these vehicles will be instrumental in maintaining peace, protecting critical infrastructure, and securing lives and property across the state.
This development is part of a broader initiative by the Gombe State Government to enhance security. Earlier this year, Governor Yahaya donated 50 operational vehicles to various security agencies during the second Gombe State Security Summit. The summit aimed to address insecurity through collective action and emphasized the importance of synergy between security forces and community stakeholders.
In addition to government support, community organizations have also contributed to enhancing the NSCDC’s capabilities. For instance, the Gadam Community Development Association donated a brand-new operational vehicle to the NSCDC to support crime prevention in the area.
These efforts reflect a collaborative approach to security in Gombe, where both government and community initiatives are working together to strengthen the state’s safety architecture. The NSCDC’s enhanced operational capacity is expected to contribute significantly to maintaining peace and stability in the region.
