Gov Yusuf Claims 85% Fulfilment of Campaign Promises in Kano

Kano, Nigeria | July 18, 2025 —
Kano State Governor, Abba Kabir Yusuf, has declared that his administration has successfully delivered on 85% of the promises made during his 2023 gubernatorial campaign, asserting that the state is on a progressive path of development and reform.

Governor Yusuf made the statement on Thursday during a public accountability forum in Kano, where he gave a comprehensive scorecard of his administration’s achievements over the past year.

According to him, key sectors such as education, healthcare, youth empowerment, infrastructure, and civil service reform have witnessed significant improvements due to deliberate policies implemented since his assumption of office.

“We made commitments to the people of Kano, and I am proud to say that we have fulfilled 85% of them. This includes reopening hundreds of schools, renovating healthcare centres, and launching multiple youth empowerment programmes,” he said.

He highlighted the reintroduction of scholarship schemes for indigent students, the ongoing road construction projects in major urban centres, and the restoration of public trust in governance as some of the administration’s high points.

Governor Yusuf also noted that his administration had placed a strong emphasis on transparency and fiscal discipline, adding that resources are being judiciously managed to benefit all citizens.

He, however, acknowledged the challenges posed by dwindling federal allocations and security concerns but assured residents that his government is not relenting in its efforts to deliver more results before the end of the current term.

“Our journey is not yet over, but the progress so far is undeniable. We are committed to achieving 100% of our campaign promises and leaving a legacy of responsive leadership,” the governor affirmed.
