Governor Sanwo-Olu, First Lady to Attend Lagos Skills Acquisition Graduation Ceremony

Ikeja, Lagos | August 8, 2025

Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu and the First Lady of Lagos State, Dr. Ibijoke Sanwo-Olu, are expected to grace the 2024/2025 graduation ceremony of the Lagos State Skills Acquisition Centres, scheduled to hold at De Blue Roof, LTV Complex, Agidingbi, Ikeja.

The event will celebrate hundreds of trainees who have successfully completed vocational and entrepreneurial training across various centres under the supervision of the Ministry of Women Affairs and Poverty Alleviation. Graduates have been equipped with practical skills in areas such as catering, tailoring, hairdressing, shoe production, technology, and other trades vital to self-reliance and economic empowerment.

Governor Sanwo-Olu is billed to deliver a keynote address highlighting his administration’s continued investment in youth and women empowerment. The First Lady, known for her advocacy in uplifting vulnerable groups, will also address the graduates, particularly encouraging women and young girls to take full advantage of the opportunities provided through the skills acquisition programme.

The graduation marks another milestone in the state government’s drive to reduce unemployment and poverty while fostering economic independence among its citizens. The initiative is part of the state’s THEMES+ agenda, which focuses on inclusive development and sustainable livelihoods.
