Hajj 2025: Ogun Govt Names ACOMORAN President Amirul Hajj, Unveils 14-Member Welfare Team

In preparation for the 2025 pilgrimage, the Ogun State Muslim Pilgrims Board has appointed Prince Adebayo Apelogun, National President of the Amalgamated Commercial Tricycle and Motorcycle Owners, Repairs and Riders Association of Nigeria (ACOMORAN), as the Amirul Hajj. He will lead a 14-member ad-hoc welfare committee tasked with ensuring the safety and comfort of pilgrims from the state during the Hajj rites in Saudi Arabia.

The committee, chaired by Shaekh Ishaq Olorungbebe, includes prominent Islamic scholars and community leaders such as Sheikh Lawal Iskeel (Sugar), Sheikh Shile Rufai, Imam Sabeeq Aladi Ibrahim, and Sheikh Wasiu Raheem Balogun. Other members are Imam Abdul-Lateef Ismail Afolabi, TPL Ogunfowora Kamoru Olayiwola, Alhaji (Imam) Hassan Tijani, Alhaji Hussein Oredipe Mustapha, and Alhaji (Imam) Uthman Akewukanwo. Three women—Alhaja Alarise Korede Fausat, Alhaja Egunjobi Kafilat Aderonke, and Alhaja Jinadu Zainab Iyabode—were also appointed to the team.

Prince Apelogun, who holds the titles of Asiwaju Adinni of Ogun State and Baba Adinni of Remo, brings extensive leadership experience to the role. The committee has been directed to prioritize pilgrims’ welfare, logistics, and adherence to Saudi Arabia’s Hajj guidelines while fostering interfaith collaboration. The appointments reflect Ogun State’s commitment to a seamless pilgrimage experience, with Governor Dapo Abiodun’s administration emphasizing accountability and service excellence.
