Health District III Provides Free Eyeglasses to Pupils with Vision Impairment in Eti-Osa

As part of its commitment to child health and educational support, Lagos State Health District III has provided free eyeglasses to pupils with vision impairment in Eti-Osa Local Government Area. The initiative aims to enhance the learning experiences of students by addressing visual challenges that may hinder academic performance.

During the outreach program, students underwent comprehensive eye screenings conducted by qualified optometrists. Those diagnosed with refractive errors received prescription eyeglasses at no cost. This proactive measure underscores the state’s dedication to early intervention and the promotion of overall well-being among school-aged children.

The provision of free eyeglasses is expected to significantly improve the academic outcomes and quality of life for the beneficiaries. Parents and educators have lauded the initiative, noting its positive impact on students’ confidence and classroom participation.

This program aligns with Lagos State’s broader health initiatives focused on preventive care and community health education. By prioritizing the visual health of its younger population, the state continues to demonstrate its commitment to fostering an inclusive and supportive educational environment.
