Hijrah 1447: NASFAT President Calls for Unity, Moral Revival and Prayers for Nigeria

As Muslims across the world ushered in the new Islamic year, President of Nasrul Lahi L Fatih Society, NASFAT, Dr Ayodeji AbdulWahid AbdulRauf has called on Nigerians to embrace unity, moral uprightness and national rebirth in the spirit of Hijrah 1447.

In a heartfelt message delivered on the first day of Muharram, Dr AbdulRauf urged the Muslim Ummah to reflect deeply on the lessons of the Prophet’s migration from Makkah to Madinah, describing it as a timeless symbol of sacrifice, perseverance, and renewal.

He congratulated Muslims across Nigeria and beyond on witnessing the new Islamic year and prayed for a year filled with divine mercy, peace and prosperity.

“As we mark the beginning of 1447 AH, let us remember that Hijrah was not just a physical journey but a spiritual and moral one,” Dr AbdulRauf said. “Now more than ever, Nigeria needs a Hijrah, a moral migration from corruption, hatred and injustice to righteousness, love and collective progress.”

The NASFAT leader appealed to all Nigerians to embrace values that promote peace, unity and godliness. He urged the faithful to act as true ambassadors of Islam and Nigeria, both at home and abroad, by upholding honesty, hard work and compassion.

He also announced that NASFAT will hold special prayers for the wellbeing of the nation, the safety of all citizens and the success of the new Hijrah year.

“In this sacred season, we renew our call for a united, peaceful and God-fearing Nigeria,” he said. “May Allah accept our prayers and grant us a prosperous Hijrah 1447.”
