The Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) has disclosed that it tracked a total of 1,440 projects valued at ₦271.054 billion in Nigeria’s North-East and North-West between May 2023 and July 2025.
ICPC Chairman, Dr. Musa Adamu Aliyu, made this known during a one-day engagement with selected media practitioners held at the Bristol Hotel, Kano, on Thursday.
According to him, 767 projects worth ₦112.737 billion were located in the North-East, while 673 projects valued at ₦158.317 billion were tracked in the North-West.
On financial recoveries, Aliyu stated that the Commission recovered ₦7.269 billion and US$1.066 million in the North-West, alongside ₦43.335 million in the North-East. In addition, assets seized in the North-West included 14 buildings, 25 plots of land, and three farmlands.
Providing updates on enforcement, the ICPC boss revealed that the Commission investigated 171 cases (117 in the North-West and 54 in the North-East), filed 15 cases in court, and secured four convictions, all in the North-West.
Aliyu commended citizens and journalists for helping to flag abandoned projects, noting that such interventions have ensured that public resources reached their intended beneficiaries.
